If she really is someone who has died as a child and has been taken over by a demon-ish entity, wouldn't being in contact with the spirit user slow down the spirits approach towards the spirit user? That's my 2 cents

@GreenDragonSage iirc if Cosette can access the spirits, she could theoretically assist - but to assist there needs to be contact. Of course if it's the other way around and Cosette was the one who needed the help, then you're right mc should avoid contact.
