This makes storage and transport very convenient. In the last chapter, weapons were shown to materialize with the passphrase "Device On" and they're compressed enough to fit in a pocket. The testing apparatus debuting in this chapter could be wheeled in on a trolley.

Part of it is their class difference. He is technically nobility and she is an Ain with unknown lineage. He is careful to not let stray dating rumors start because that is enough to wreak havoc on reputations.

The other part is that he isn't aware of his own feelings yet but the temperature between them heats up super fast once he does. This will happen in about 3 arcs IIRC
