Geez can't these authors just like, take a day or two browsing Wikipedia, maybe watch a few docs or YT vids before shitting these out?
Doesn't even need to be Alt-hist/historical fiction levels of research and realism to be compelling, just, like, put some actual effort ffs. Nope, just crap out more generic Lit-RPG/Game-Lit sludge, cause author can't be assed to do some proper world building. Lazy bums.
Even as a gamer, on some days seeing stuff like this, sometimes I just can't help but feel like videogames may have been one of the worst things to happen to contemporary Fantasy and Science fiction. . .
