One of my biggest pet peeves is when someone the MC has no reason to like or trust is like "Don't trust [other character who the MC has known for a long time and has a close relationship with]," and the MC is all "oh no" and takes them seriously.

Also why the fuck would she go to the Marquis' house. She has literally no reason to go there. It would be perfectly fine to say, "Bring the gift here or fuck off."
