well, I think it more likely is unofficial advisor but they call it "venting companion" so it would not trigger political problem later

since normally it should be someone like prime minister to be close enough to hear king's vent but somehow no high ranking officer considered to be close enough in king's opinion (except knight commander who aren't suit to be talking companion)
