I still don't know why she's so cold at him... Like well, your father treated you very bad, but that was him, not the Duke... And like, you're his wife, and he bought you and take you away from that shitty house, be more grateful with him at least...

He's so cute and small. I didn't realize how small and adorable he was until Nitti was standing next to the wagon wheel!

😭

And can I say I love how sincere the Duke is? He's a good guy. I think the comment of AiriAi comment at the bottom expresses it well. He isn't weird like the usual ML, but a human.

@silvpaula She doesn't know he's not a bad person because she slept with him one time. How does that make any sense? She doesn't "know who he is" because they had a one night stand.

And maybe she's treating him like that because she doesn't trust him, which is honestly the logical response when somebody tells you to go be silent and not bother them then does a 180 and starts trying to be all nice. In real life, would you immediately trust someone who did a went from being disdainful to being nice for no reason (since he hasn't ever explained to her why he's being nice)? Maybe you would, I'm just pretty sure it's not what most people think is normal.

@VNeo maybe she's cold to him because he literally told her to go, leave him alone and not bother him..? That's basically him saying he doesn't care about her- which is fine, but does it make sense to be all friendly with someone who basically said "I don't want to see your face, go live on the other side of my property"? I don't get why so many people are expecting the typical manhwa insta-romance that makes no sense. This is actually one manhwa where the FL's reactions are logical.

to be honest, fulfilling the duties of a wife- especially a noble. while a housewife is one of the eradicating roles women had to fulfill during periods of history. noble wives are extensive party planners: the wives are considered hosts and are meant to act as a buffer if a guest wished to visit them, they managed social circles and had to have adequate knowledge of trends
speaking of last chapter... I didn't know that was considered as a sort of disorder. minor ramble:
I adore sleep and when I was stressed or found things troublesome, I could just sleep it off- this included talking to my family. how sincerely her son is concerned for her, is pretty much how my dad is (I take care of myself now because sleeping too often, my body aches. I mean if it becomes a habit you kind of get used to peoples concern). sleeping, sleeping, and more sleep. I think people losing out on sleep is very relatable: but skipping meals, feeling certain parts of your body paralyzed cause of blood circulation, getting chills for no apparent reason because the lack of nutrition- among other things could easily be offset if you sleep more... it's a slow cycle that feels so short, because your missing out the time you should be awake. quite literally wasting away your life

The terror on her face when he grabs her wrist. Also, she wants him to leave her alone because all she’s ever known from a man is abuse. She thinks it’s better to stay hidden and out of the light. He might like her for a minute but what if she loses favor or upsets him later? That’s probably what’s going on in her head.

LMAOOOOO SAKUUUUUU 🤣

And yeah, tbh, no matter how frustrating the FL might act, I also think it's logical. They had an agreement to stay out of each other's hairs and he made it pretty clear that it's all contractual. So he actually has no reason to be upset. And no matter how kind a person is towards you, you'd still doubt their intentions especially if you suddenly change and you aren't close with them. There was also no way to judge a person's character in a one-night stand, for all she knows, he might've been doing something illegal and was on the run that night. He has pretty bad rumors too. And when you grow up in an abusive household, it's vey hard to give trust, especially towards men. The only person she trusts is her son.

So much fuss in the comments.. She's depressed and she doesn't want help or attention.. I felt the same way when I suffered depression. At this point letting someone close is scary even if it's her husband and baby daddy (who btw she only had a one night stand with) and is basically a stanger.
