I'm hoping The Emperor isn't somehow misled by false info from his wife. There's always the chance of a monkeywrench in the works.

Tia and Perez will likely be able to use their respective connections to handle things though. And almost no one knows about Tia being the actual owner of Pellet yet except a select few, so she can move more freely. Better yet, no one knows those two are now working together.

I thinkkkk his only loyalty are to the residents of his territory.

He probably wanted the West business venture to succeed but now that it obviously isn’t, he’s also forged a backup plan with Gallahan Lombardi. Knowing his prior venture with the Angenas is going to fail anyway, he’s at least trying to come away from it with a new land for his people to develop.

Idk if he cares much for the power struggle at the capital.

I honestly think Sershow is only on Sershow's side. His comment about their people getting exploited felt honest. If he was the head of the royal guard he was in a prime position to learn people's follies and watch the way the wind was blowing. I think he bided his time for large players in the game to go for each other and is taking subtle cuts in the chaos. I think he'd do the same just as contentedly if it was Lombardi or any other house or faction.

I think Shershow was always on the Perez's side ever since they were together in the war. We have already seen that Perez also setup a secretly controlled merchant faction to plan the Empresses downfall, may be he planned with Shershow as well to setup a fake antagonistic front.

As for the engagement, let the plans burn baby burn!

Tia, grandpa and a few others of the family, as well as avinox smuggle her to the east before it can go through, this of course puts viese, his wife and the empress in a bad spot.

easiest way to put a stop to this? link lombardi and the royal family via tia and perez. pretty sure everyone will forget about the first prince if that engagement is announced.

Can I talk about how brilliantly shrewd sir Shershow is? He could just persecute the Angenas for all the money the owe him, but instead he gives them a new loan, which means they are in even more debt, which by the look of things they wont be able to pay. So he asks for a "useless" land as a collateral. I'm pretty sure he already knows that said land is far from useless and that it will cover all of the money he gave the Angenas and then some.

This guy is going to extort coin from every single character in this webcomic and come on top. Full on Magnificent Bastard.
