...how nice of Perez to announce a clear and beautiful solution to all these issues: offering marriage to Tia so the emperor can STILL be tied as in-laws with the Lombardis, and to remove the empress' power which she clearly is losing a grasp on, while giving more of it to the throne so the emperor can stare at a future that he's to blind to see will never reach his grasp.

Like, c'mon I don't have any spoilers from reading the novel but if Perez is dense enough to miss such an easy move like that, I don't know what he even learnt from all he's been trying to do. The empress is tumbling, trying desperately to appease the emperor so Astana can take the throne while he's still favored enough to be taken as the crown prince by default, so pulling her rug and making her fall on such a nice curb would be perfect.

Looks like next season might be the last one? The big confrontation with the imperial family is about to go down, and I don't see it dragging on for 2 seasons (given the pacing we've had so far). Unless ofc we get sidetracked with other stuff. But doesn't seem like it.

I already know some of what happens, which makes the placement here specifically for season end making me all the more desiring to throw something. I hope grandpa does me a solid by throwing the glass across the room in the first chapter of Season 3. I would. I'd be like "Do you want the imperial economy to collapse?"

By the way, for those impatient enough to read the source material. Don't bother. In comparison to the manhwa, the web novel original really is nothing special.
The author has cool ideas for the story but sadly is a weak writer, and the translation doesn't help it either. It will ruin your experience.
You won't get more world building or additional scenes, which would be the case in better web novels. You won't even get to read the motivations behind the characters actions, cause it's all missing from the original.
The manhwa team did its best to create such a magnificient comic version of an unfortunately and surprisingly poor source.

ML barely survived after people got to know about his childhood, so he got spared and inherited the throne... and it's debts. And so, the Lombardy were finally the true rulers of the empire.
