Please, somebody who has read the novel, tell me that Vieze either ends up so fucking destitute that the slums are too rich for him or that he dies a horrible death. Like I know the Empress and the Emperor are pieces of shit and evil and will die by the end. But to sell off your child because somebody who has never once kept their word yet may possibly maybe give you a good opportunity because of it? Nah, he’s way worse imo.

From what I remember, every annoying character gets what they deserve (mostly Vieze and the Empress). I don't really remember much beyond that (trying to forget so I can re-read this adaptation with more joy)

The Emperor is far more willful and competent, and has a better understands royal politics than his brother in law Viese, who gets led around by Selal’s slightest suggestion. He’s definitely more than a match for his Empress, but he’s just as greedy and callous as either of them.
