Grandpa :glee: also he was so cool when he shut down all cooperation with the royal family. I believe told Tia something to the effect of "a Lombardi doesn't bow down to anyone, not even the royal family" in one of the earlier chapters

For a grandpa that puts his family first, he sure does let his own family screw over the family.
This is hopefully the last straw, because how the hell can you forgive your son for selling his own daughter to your enemies for delusions of grandeur?

I think he has the same weakness that Vito Corleone from The Godfather has (if any of you have seen or read that one lol I’m old): reluctance to bring down or hurt family. He does have affection for Vieze, which is hampering his decision making as the family head to do what he has to do to this Angenas-loving traitor.

So unfortunately for him, Gramps is going to have to do what Vito ended up doing in The Godfather:
pass the burden on to his successor, aka Tia. Fortunately, Tia has no such qualms about crushing her uncle like an ant lol

"I declare that Vieze and his children and thereby disinherited and he and his wife are subsequently banished", problem solved and the fucker loses any value he had, i'd also forcefully recollect any money borrowed to anyone associated even slightly with the Empress family in retribution.

Your forgetting that craney, like lorainne, isn't like the rest of his siblings or parents.
The rest sure but not craney.

TBH, it beg the question how Vieze ended that way. Lombardi family supposed to have best tutors, education and family head supposed to teach next head personally, indoctrinating (in a good sense) him with family values. Instead both his sons are meh, one was spineless before Tia forced some sense in him. Other is basically a traitor (for what? Lombardi are the wealthiest and most influential already!). And the only sensible is the daughter who married basically an insider. So much for family internal security.

I’d guess Viese wasn’t a particularly outstanding child probably got outshone by his sister. Maybe he had potential but that involved hard work.

And then people like his wife poisoned the well. Told him the Lombardi values were less important than the bloodline. That his status as eldest son mattered more than his competency. Those words were easier than the hard path his grandfather would’ve encouraged so he followed them.

I think this is ulterior bullshit.
You are the emperor after winning the approval of the four territories, you shouldn't be able to force marriage nor house confinement just because you want. They are your vassals, nor your slaves. I would put all four big houses against the emperor and rule him out. Not like it is first time on history (real history) that something like that happens.
Emperors have power while their vassals tolerate it, but if you start forcing things into your own profit... Well, history has a large number of emperors, kings and even dictators just losing his life just after losing their marbles and thinking their power is absolute.

Craney isn't Vieze's kid, so he would be safe 😂 Craney and his older brother, Asteilu(?) (always forget how to spell the kid's name but he acts as Bellsac's little henchman) are the children of Laurels, Vieze's other brother. We just barely ever see him so he's easily forgotten.

To clarify further: Vieze (evil uncle) has two kids, Lorraine and Bellesac. Laurels (the uncle that sucks up to Vieze) has his own two kids, Astelieu (?) and Craney.

Vieze, his wife, and Bellesac are the ones who are the really shitty people, while Laurels’ family is mixed; Laurels and Astelieu are ass kissers and not nice because Vieze and Bellesac are not nice. Laurels’ wife isn’t bad though, and Craney is the black sheep of his family like Lorraine because he really likes Tia and is a good child.
