I like how people out here pretending that this little shit didn't take any and all opportunities to talk down to Yoshida.
It's been some time since those chapters came out, I guess. People may have forgotten that both Gotou and the kouhai here have done and/or said some pretty questionable stuff earlier. I honestly don't feel too sorry for either of them.

Also, people forget that despite whatever has been going on with Sayu, Yoshida simply has never been interested in the kouhai like that, he sees her as a co-worker/friend/kouhai.
Simply because someone is available it doesn't mean you should hook up with them for life...

More like emotional battery and a divorce waiting to happen.
literally.
wasn’t she basically emotionally manipulating him at the start? i might have to reread those chapters, but i don’t remember her being a good person.

She is the most normal among all the women.. Yoshida really had a very bad eye at choosing women. Everyone got their own chances but she never got one.

She is definitely bad for him, but doesn't make it suck any less to be in her shoes in this chapter. And Yoshida is callous enough to (unintentionally or otherwise) show so much affection for Sayu in front of Mishima knowing full well how she feels about him. She honestly handled the situation probably the best way possible, even teasing him on their way out to ensure them that everything is normal.

Man this moment hits much harder than its anime counterpart.

"Good wife"? "Best for him overall"?

More like emotional battery and a divorce waiting to happen.
Also like she thinks sayu ain't shit and I can feel that through the screen like she's not a nice person

No, he doesn't know that Mishima loves him. Despite all her obvious hints and her even ultimately saying she likes him, he doesn't understand she meant that romantically. This is one of those frustrating quirks about this (and many other) main character(s). You need to be extremely upfront with them, and even then it's a coin toss whether they get it or not.

Mishima didn't clarify her feelings are romantic, thus Yoshida isn't remotely aware of her feelings for him. It's the usual tropey song and dance where the girl does almost everything, save for the most direct manner, to communicate to the guy she loves him, but the guy "just doesn't get why she's acting that way" and doesn't bother to question the behaviour any further.

Unrelated to your comment, but I really don't see the chemistry between Mishima and Yoshida. Almost every conversation we see between the two of them is either her criticizing his behaviour (which to be fair, he does have low self-esteem and is patronising) or him patronising her ("Re-do it." Like, I get that this is his job as he's training her, but how is a person ordering you around remotely charming?)

Also, at the start she was kinda showed as a Kouhai who makes mistakes in her work to spend more time with him (with how she makes ton of mistakes, but suddenly when there's a deadline she doesn't make any, plus the fact that she said that she don't want anyone else than him to teach her)

Recently she did confess but she backtracked by saying stuff like "as a friend of course" (don't remember the exact words tho)

She was also always angry at him for not giving her a chance, but of course he doesn't, he doesn't see her as a romantic interest, why would he want to have a date with someone he's not in love with?

Anyway, like every other characters in this story, she put her own viewpoint on him
