Normally I'm all for anti-sniping sentiment, but I feel like defining a 3-6 month wait for what constitutes sniping-vs-not makes a lot less sense for a twitter comic with a new page or two every 2 days-ish than it does for a monthly (or even a weekly) series.

3-6 months is just the commonly accepted window afaik, i do understand your point though

Honestly, after the Tsundere one, I argue that more scanlation groups should come in and translate random chapters just for traditions sake!

jfc what even is the point of scanlating drama
Ego protection.

It's ridiculous when you consider the hypothetical of, say, a scanlation being provably bad while the so-called sniper produces a demonstrably superior translation.

And if someone can produce an equal or better translation job in less time, why should viewers be inconvenienced because the person holding "dibs" on a given work either intended to silently drop the project without telling anyone, isn't able to attend to it because this isn't their job, or actively holds "dibs" on several other projects and the given work isn't even top priority?

If there's this etiquette about sniping, is there also etiquette about sitting on projects, or silently dropping projects?
