when people take the safe route, it's pathetic. When people take the risky route, it's stupid. Gosh, make up your minds people

This guy is just a dickhead looter
Clearly, he is not sharing the redemption loots or the hidden item loot drops with the party that killed the creatures. The author is ignoring the obvious problem and hoping the readers will ignore it too. After all, if no one mentions it in the story, then it didn't happen. So, the MC can walk into a bank, and hack each person to death. No one reacts and no town guards come. Because the author refuses to write about it. Finally, the MC loots the bank vault and the author refuses to write about the obvious problem. But if the author refuses to acknowledge there is a problem, then did such a problem actually occur?

A world with monsters and no one bothers with loot? Even if all the smaller stuff isn't feasible, the larger ones should be... this world is not an easy one to suspend my disbelief for.

The cowardly main character is a frustrating read, too.

uuuh, how did he know about that scroll (or rare items, overall)? Is this a poor adaptation, or is there a chapter missing?
Hmmm, now we have another cowardly protagonist, well, as long as this series lead the way how it turned out
on the contrary, he's idiotically brave and stupid, not cowardly. Instead of making tons of money trading with the intel he can gather (to find hidden bargains), or even buying large amounts of cheap local stuff in bulk to peddle across towns (with hired escort) using the starting cash if it is enough... he decides to go out with a party of adventurers on a rare-monster hunt with uncertain intel as the porter (either they kill him and rob him blind, or they see value in him and kidnap him and maybe sell - unless he somehow makes them think he wants to join them permanently. In which case he dies as they are just too weak anyway).

With such a power, he should've become a merchant and made measures to remain safe, and level through importing restrained monsters.
Well I really like for now that MC is not stupid like others to jump in battle randomly and think "haha it will be fine I'm freaking main character of the story". He thinks quiet rationally and its good.
But for some reason he felt it was a good idea to follow weak adventurers going after a swarm of unusually strong wolves. Almost died from it too, as we saw.
