Just checked the raws and in them she calls the cat ノラノラ (noranora) which I think comes from ノラ猫 (nora neko) meaning stray cat, which I've seen done in other manga to create nicknames by repeating a part of the name.

This development can go a couple of ways story wise.

The supernatural is already established, and there are clandestine organizations that are involved supernatural phenomena, but suddenly having her being “the key” or the “vessel” or some kind of undead princess for the evil organization would have undercut a lot of the drama to me.

Not saying that will happen, just hope it doesn’t.
