things can just exist for no apparent reason, but the fact doesn't stop me from scratching my head over this. big 'why does this exist'?
i think a side story exploring aya's problems as an artist, now that she doesn't have her most precious artist friend/partner in junpei, could have been a worthwhile story. her being encouraged by a fan isn't really the worst, but it's neither interesting nor satisfying, at least in the manga we got.
also, it's not really appropriate considering that aya is at a low point in her life, but it's kinda sad that she doesn't get to be goofy in this side story. i like that part of her character in the main story, even if it got really dumb at times, at crucial points, even.
i do enjoy seeing the characters in a more refined style, and in what seems to be a clean format.
