I like how she pick first grade book and not third, her current grade. because she actually start study for real on what she not understand, Wow, she not messing around. Wonder if she actually gonna get in the school in later volume
Nah, plenty of guys (and girls!) like bookish girls like Maya. Staying home and reading all summer is definitely not a deal breaker for them.
She's still a virgin because she's so introverted she never tries to make friends, much less meet a guy/girl to date. She also may have a bit of androphobia, since she's spent most of her life in girls-only schools.

The staying home reading was in regards to summer, which can be absolutely brutal in Japan, but she probably does do that all year. Book lovers who aren't so introverted have lots of ways to meet others. Joining a book club or chatting to other book lovers online are excellent ways she could do so, but she's not doing either. (It's a lot of fun talking to others about books you enjoy. Similar to commenting here about manga we read.) She could also meet people at the library or at book stores, but I wouldn't be surprised if she buys her books online instead.
Maya's introversion is preventing her from meeting others, not her love of books.
