It is very rare. Although maybe it is more common in certain types of stories. But you are right. And unless the dude is already a massive chad, this kind of thing is rare to nonexistent.

Either way, I personally haven't seen this irl as it is almost exclusively the other way around or it just doesn't happen. None of my friends would ever do this unless they already knew the guy, or knew someone who did that could vouch for him that he isn't a chauvinistic asshole, he is actually a nice guy, and/or he isn't already taken. Most of them would rather just let the guys come to them though.

@JavelinJoe it might be more common in shoujo/josei manga, but I usually don't read those manga, I don't even know if they tend to have beach chapters.

From what I have read, which is still a very limited selection, there may be 1 main beach event per every 4 or 5 stories where the focus is the actual beach/ocean trip. Usually if the beach is somehow involved, it is just used as a location where most of the story happens elsewhere and/or focuses on a particular event or setting that is just "beach themed".

Mainly it is because those kind of fanservice dumps are a pretty rare thing for these types of stories. They don't need to entice the reader with jailbait in order to make a sale because their plotline is usually capable of carrying the show on its own, at least more so than most of the shounen generic trash that follows the same exact template plotpoints that every other shounen uses.
