There is supposed to be something going on, because the scenes/backgrounds that could be common are not copy pasted.
The boyfriend has a breakdown surrounded by photos, while Mio has her breakdown surrounded by documents.
And the panel with the tree in front of the apartment complex is slightly different on page 2 & 4.

But I have no clue as to what these differences mean.

Well, we don't have all the details but,

Back when girlfriend was smaller, boyfriend had a mental breakdown and she supported him, and when she became older, she had the mental break down and he supported her.

It's basically them being there for each other during their hardest times...
