Raw talent is certainly a factor but their entire reason to exist is to capture the hearts of the audience and Mimi has ALREADY done that by going viral and she hasn't even debuted (...again)! Ritsu and Hitoe are personally being trained by the Otoboshi company. Tsumugi, Anon and Shuri are bundles of talent! Ibuki got bored of being successful! Michiru has been in the industry since she was a tot! Shiori isn't even trying that hard!

Aria's literally trying to cobble the best idol group to ever exist and she's hand picked the best of the BEST! Will they make money?

Last page was interesting. It looks like the two person unit got an advantage by going last. The ambiance of the stage was boosted because they had to lit it up to compensate for the sun setting.

The father actually got a point, he was being pragmatic trying to keep his company afloat and not losing his employees' livehood if such a project went to fail. In the opposite, his son is such a stupid moron a$$hole... Even his shitty backstory doesn't make him one bit likeable. Since when was he spoon-fed? His entire life, he was told to earn his place in the world. All of this bullshit is the dad's fault. He made them into enemies when he adopted Aria and didn't tell Tsubasa that he didn't need to compete with her for his affections.

With how fast things went with these chapters it's easy to forget about Hibana's development, I really hope she stays. Besides being one of the characters I relate the most to, I think she's been set up to be a really different type of idol from the other girls, she can occupy a very interesting niche (I mean c'mon, a rapper ballerina? I find that cool).

I wonder if what Nishi actually meant when he asked director Otoboshi to take care of Michiru, is to ACTUALLY take care of her and not let her work herself too hard to the point of illness and exhaustion. Given how her family situation is, I believe he must be one of the more supportive figures to her.

I wouldn't say Tsubasa's been spoon-fed, though he was born into a very privileged position, the only thing missing would be if his mother was a musician. Most of his issues seem to (at least to me) come from his father being absent, so instead of finding his passions and a true place for himself he tries to fill a specter of expectations. These issueswork well for the story's structure, but we didn't really see all that much, just a few breadcrumbs. It'll be nice to see his relationship with Aria evolve throughout the story, it's been very nicely set up and I like to see the contrast of her actions in different situations.

Oh, I love Aria so much, she's so fun. And I can see now how some of her stepfather manneirisms rubbed off on her. I think she's very lucky to have Kokonoe's as a friend and manager, specially in situations like this she feels like a good mentor to her.

thankfully based off how this manga has been so far, I don't think pillow business will come into play for this contest at all

While Aria's goal seems indeed naive (it's the Idol industry, so for them all to be top idols is...), I admire and respect that she cares about the girls. Truly a treasure.
