I feel like the way the story's gone so far, both sides are pretty probable.

Black Stars might push so hard that people get annoyed and it becomes a lesson on finding a balance or matching the audience's energy.

Because I can very much see trying to hype people up going too far and losing meaning.

Yeah, suspected as much. Black Stars have not much choice but to play the heel to gain any attention at all, otherwise they'll be drowned out and get served up as lunch.
