Man, this hit hard, props to the author in being able to convey such a heartwrenching scene. You can feel the improvement from the competition scenes in New Game! to here.

Kind of funny how the meme at the end could not be more of the inverse of what Koyuki's actually feeling at the moment.

Edit: Almost forgot, thank you very much for the scanlation and the batch release.

I just wanna say, I called Mei being eliminated lol. But yeah, the author definitely did a great job making that scene emotional, especially since she's a relatively minor character with just one focus chapter. I'll be curious to see where Mei's character goes in the future since I'm sure she'll be turning up again.

As for Koyuki...I'm not sure if pushing herself and stressing herself out like this is what Aria meant for her to do. I think she's in for some rough waters ahead.

(So Mimi moved up to the white stars but Ibuki dropped down to the black stars...truly they are star-crossed lovers...)

Thanks for the chapter!

I really like this series, because it gives me the same feelings that when I read the novel "god of cooking" for the first time. When the first elimination might not hurt as much, the fact they do get eliminated feels like someone that you are invested will fall along the way. And even if they get a happy ending after the show it still feels sad.

I wouldn't put Mei on my list of favorites but it's still sad to see her go. It's gonna be painful when the characters I'm really fond of start getting eliminated because as much as I like them it's hard to see all of them making it to the final five.

I guess the remaining 3 will be incorporated to the other teams so they are now 3 teams of 5?

Mei... :meguuusad: I'm sad to see her go. Her spotlight chapter did have me wanting her to discover her own sense of identity... but she'll have to do that outside the competition now. I wonder how much, if at all, we'll see of the eliminated contestants?

Did a good job at making me second-guess who would be eliminated. Koyuki was too ready to be done to be actually done, I suppose. Her eyes look a little ominous at the end there...

Surprisingly good character writing here. Can't wait for more. Thanks for the scans!

Time to indulge in a little bit of hyperfixation on stats in an idol competition manga 🤓

New rankings:
1. Ritsu (+1)
2. Mimi (+8) promoted
3. Yuuri (+2)
4. Michiru (+2)
5. Shiori (-2)
6. Hibana (+6) promoted
7. Suzu (+8) promoted
8. Karin (+1) promoted

9. Ibuki (-1) demoted
10. Urara (+1)
11. Shuri (-4) demoted
12. Tsumugi (+2)
13. Hitoe (-12) demoted
14. Anon (-10) demoted
15. Mei (-2) eliminated

16. Koyuki (0)

In fourth place, Team Hitoe was a disaster, collectively dropping 27 ranks with the entire team getting demoted to the Black Stars. Hitoe and Anon got it especially bad, plummeting from the top quartile all the way down to the bottom quartile. Ouch...

In third place, Team Karin was a mixed bag, collectively rising 6 ranks with Hibana and Karin getting promoted to the White Stars, but losing Mei to elimination...

In second place, Team Ritsu was top-ranked to begin with and proved they deserved it, collectively rising 3 ranks, only prevented from occupying all four top spots by Mimi. Maybe next round will expose some weaknesses...

In first place, Team Mimi collectively rose 18 ranks, driven almost entirely by Mimi and Suzu, who earned promotions to the White Stars. Without their efforts winning their team immunity, Koyuki would've been eliminated, having come in dead last for the second time in a row...

well fuck there goes one of my favorite girl :(((

though, with how she realized she still love singing and dancing + she still has time to work more, I believe she can be a brilliant idol in the future!!!

but now I'm a bit worried about Koyuki. She's already stressed as hell from everything and now the burden of staying even though she should have been the one eliminated is gonna weigh a lot on her.

anw, thanks for the chapter!

I genuinely wasn’t expecting much when i first started reading this manga. But THIS chapter i think solidified it hard for me. The amount i’m invested in characters I’ve barely even know really shows the level of writing. looking forward to see what’s to come.

Rereading this series
I find it ironic that the girl who got pushed by her mom to become an idol actually idolise someone who got her wished to become an idol opposed by her mom
