@GodGinrai Its an unused cabin.

A very, very conveniently timed and conveniently placed unused cabin.

Also the dumbass is like "I got no house, Im mostly broke, and I want to die. So lets buy a slave and we can starve to death together."

To me it looks like the backup house looks pretty nice.
Also it feels like the author did the first chapter. And when he got to the second one, he was like “how shoot, where is this guy suppose to live now that he got no house or money? 💡oh wait he have a BACKUP HOUSE! I’M A GENIUS”

@Nep I don't care how you dress it. That is a backup house.

@xininja Pretty much. This really cheapens things, honestly. They should have had them try to earn some money just to stay in a hotel for the night or even just camped out for the night. Even staying at an acquaintance's house would have been fine.

@GodGinrai There's definitely a big difference between the two, not that I think that makes it good writing. The cabin isn't his, so they can't leave their stuff there. It's basically a free hotel room with no lock : stupidly convenient, but not really somewhere you could ever feel at home in.

@GodGinrai @Doodads

What doodads said. Also another difference is that he "would not know the existence of the cabin" so him making a big deal from his house burning down is more reasonable (compared to him freaking out despite having a vacation home)

Especially since you normally don't find random huts to live in.

@Doodads It's an abandoned cabin that he's been renovating. He could easily put a lock on if he wishes. There's no difference here.

EDIT: @Nep He very much knew about the cabin. He even said he had renovated it when he was passing by for other reasons.

In certain camping or hiking sites there are free to use cabins usually in the mid way point where people can use as a landmark and a place to stay over night

Pretty sure that’s what the house is.

Yeah, a public unused cabin that looks really nice. It became a free real estate for the MC temporarily. Maybe the author planned to create a future conflict regarding the one who built that cabin arguing about the ownership or such, and MC has to move out again to look for a new house for real. I'm gonna get mad if that cabin will become a permanent house for the MC. That will be just bad writing.

@GodGinrai Nah. Do you really expect the mc to have acquaintance or friends? The author wants to make him desperate. Here's my prediction, that is common in several other fantasy genres.
The mc will never be in touch with old past friends or pals. But will instantly make new friends that will constantly be in his daily life.

Time for a beatdown
-Is this a solo work? there are many frames without backgrounds
-the characters lack complex facial emotions
-the mangaka is addicted to half body shots, and he/she apparently has a fear of ?legs?
-A little more research would've been great, literally the 3rd google image search of a 'wooden cabin' presents a more realistic picture, not to mention that birds(which fly) does not look like that mess of vague black shapes
-some frames are too ambitious for their current level of skill: the closeup shot of the d. elf picking up pebble; the way the mc hovers behind the d. elf when she is the focus; apparently the mc has super long fingers and is 60% the length of his head, among other body mis-proportions; and last but not least, there are many forced narrow perspectives/angles so that the mangaka can avoid drawing anything that is not the main characters

I can only critique the art so far, due to it being a webnovel adaptation, but seriously, a change in medium warrants at least minor changes to the plot to better suit the medium (i.e. adding/lengthening some scenes to give detail and allow for transitions)
