I I get the impression the author is trying to convey him as a creep through the art style...
Now he's taking her a bit far away where she won't be able to easily get help or run away...

It's not supposed to "scream rapist" - as that would obviously have scared her off already.
It's intended to subtly hint to the reader that he may have bad intentions - which she's oblivious to, being the naive girl she is.

And since they exchanged information why didn't he tell her where they are going for the date so she could tell someone just in case she goes missing I hope she at least left his information with her parents, even if she is an adult this is her first time going out with a man. Im so scared for her, the only thing they told her to do was look good and run if you have to
