@ac1d1c It’s real life in some countries unfortunately. Back when I was about 14-15 , I had seen my friend getting gang raped by her classmates at school and we were blackmailed and couldn’t tell it to neither the teachers nor parents.

So the school bullying in many manga is not over the top, it’s kinda realistic. But I guess it depends on personal experiences whether one sees it as realistic or not.

Anyone has seen the raw? Can you give me spoilers whether or not the sensei is the cause of her school bullying? Like was he the one who blackmailed her? I sincerely hope not 😫

@ac1d1c

I mean, for a lot of people, severe bullying is the norm. In highschool alone, I was knocked out with a textbook, thrown down a flight of stairs, had my shoes and clothes stolen repeatedly, shoved around in the corridors and ruthlessly abused online. Also, historically speaking, Japan has had some pretty horrific cases of violence from teenagers, such as the murder of Junko Furata. Some of these manga definitely play up the types of bullying done, but it's not a stretch to say that there are many students experience this kind of violence, including sexual, in schools everywhere in the world. It might not be Mad Max, but it's hideous for the students in question.

@ComradeVee it's bizarre cause the teachers know, but do nothing they think shaking hands or some other stupid shit will fix it

This author is now 2 for 2 on works with great premises that they then proceed to goof up with unnecessary drama and absurd characters. Huge bummer.

Bullying is a recurring topic in almost all mangas with a school life- & drama-tag.

It's hard to tell how much of it is exaggeration or truth. Always involves textbooks/cloths/shoes/tables getting stolen, dirtied, scribbled on or physical violence. Where I grew up, one teacher in Western/Central Europe mostly has to handle/supervise 15 to 30 students, while in Asia there are around 40 to 60 students per class. It's easy to understand that a lot of them won't and try not to get themselves involved.

A lot of Korean mangas from early 2000s that I've read with female main characters had arcs with actual rape attempts until the male lead saved the day... It shouldn't be a common thing but still appalling to know that it happens often enough for it to be portrayed in a manga.

@ac1d1c while it may not be all schools, I'd say you might have been lucky to have gone to one where it wasn't as problematic.
I didn't see rape or actual murder in my school, but it certainly got bad enough that kids ended up changing schools to get away from it.
Personally, I ended up passing out from being hit (only one time it got that bad), as well as lots of verbal sexual harassment. And I went to a school that was supposed to be quite strict with the students in terms of behaviour.

so 4 chapter in and I can confidently say that this manga is torture porn where the bad guys gets everything scotts free and living the life of wealth and playboyism.
While the sufferer will continue to suffer.

If you like that kind of manga, read this.
Because I don't.

This manga just shows how human nature can be, like Suzuki is cheating on his wife or him bullying Aizawa. This can happen in society, it's just hidden and not often brought up to light because often it gets forgotten or it was resolved.

@Harriet_ If you saw your friend raped, you should bashed their head in, even if they point a knife. I broke 6 years of friendship when I was a kid because I punched my best friend for bullying. I make sure to punch every bully in front of the entire school whenever I saw one. I look lame because I punched them while crying myself, but it had to be done. Otherwise, they'll grow arrogant and bully again.

Hate the act of bullying, but never denied them a chance to make amends.

@ac1d1c If you hadn't seen those kind of bullying in your school days, that's because you are FORTUNATE and PRIVILEGED. Your experience alone doesn't define what others may had gone through from DIFFERENT schools, areas, states or even countries from where you were from.

@kronos00 Shit they really had knives. That wasn’t a joke.
Would you alone fight a gang with knives knowing that they had just cut someone a few months ago??
Are you a boy or a girl btw?

@Harriet_ I'm a guy. I've been in situation both at knife point and gun point. Most people don't have a resolve to take a life, and people that was threatened even more so. In that situation, I'll be more afraid for girl that was raped. They want to stab me? Be my guest, but I'll make sure to stab back as many people as I can with that knife, even if I lay on my own pools of blood (which I did one time). And to answer your question, I will fight them even if I was alone. My record is 7 people at once. (I'm not a fighter, btw, I just persist really hard. So you can guess how it went up).

Don't get me wrong, I'm not a death seeker. But I don't want my whole life thinking what I should do back then.

@kronos00 well i was a girl who got beaten enough at home and didn't want to also be raped at school. The situation you have been through sounds horrendous, I'm glad that you are fine now.
Back then i didn't fight the gang but I did find a way to both save myself and help my classmate out of the situation, and tbh that girl was also a bullier, she was nice to me but she bullied another friend of mine. Sometimes kids can be really cruel.

@Harriet_ I'm sorry to hear that, my father is also a deadbeat. Most people I know that being bullied or a bully have each their own circumstances, especially at home. And to be clear, I have no intention judging you, whether you a boy or a girl. You did the best you could at that time. No matter where you came from, no matter what you did, or what your parents did, all of us deserve to live and be happy. I'm not saying this as rhetoric, but no one above or below the other.

Hope you're OK now. I feel with many author bringing bullying as their theme, will give us hope that younger kids will see from other perspectives. Because just like how adult have a hard time identifying and preventing bullying, sometimes, even the bully don't know they're in the wrong.

Seeing the social side of bullying being portrayed so well means the author had to have gone through something like this in the past. I wasn't bullied to the point of life threatening "jokes" were involved but I was a social outcast for who knows what.

If this ends up being a manga with a sudden twist ending where it seems like the teacher is the villain with all the incriminating evidence stacked against him but it turns out he's actually a good guy, i'm going to absolutely flip.

Please show me a satisfying revenge.
