Edit: Personally, I would have observed her the first day. Then found out where the heffer lived. Then visited her at night for the kill. Then again I can see why the author may have gone this direction since it does introduce some more mind fucking from Midou.

Eh, the trauma of someone dying because of you, someone getting tortured and traumatised because of you, and getting raped, and then seeing them calm around children might make that plan more difficult
