Okay, I guess I'm the only one who saw the outfit and was less telescoping-cartoon-heart-eyes and more "junkie streetwalker Nanakusa Nazuna cosplayer, are you okay??"
Normally I'm down for this body type, but I think a lot of art choices combine to accidentally make her look unhealthy. The sketchy, pencil-weight details on her imply loose skin under her arms and shadows under her puffy eyes, and her hair looks stringy and greasy with the way it's drawn in sharp spikes. There's also a difference in how stylized her head and body are that feels off. And I think the cut of the outfit's just not flattering.

And I can already see so many frustrations coming up, constant misunderstandings, progress at a snails pace, constant fanservice... Her "cool side" didn't even come up in this short chapter, I wouldn't know that she's supposed to be cool, if it weren't in the title.

She is hot though, but she deserves to be in a better story (without this really uncomfortable age difference)

Right, that's another thing - "cool" is a weird translation for "ikemen," which is a "handsome ('cool' in the masculine sense) GUY" and I feel like that TL picks the least important term in that description and buries the lede a bit. Think every "prince of the Girls' School" character. Not that she's portrayed as much of an ikemen here. Barely even a tomboy except for like two flashback panels in the middle.

It's super weird to make the ikemen thing the keyword to her character but then open on her in a way that affords her no dignity at all.

Yeah, that's why I'm a little hung up on this - individually they're all items that could be taken positively or negatively, but put all together something starts a domino effect in my head where it all goes negative and the hollow under her ribcage, visible ribs, and emphasis on collarbone depth read as "emaciated" rather than "fit" to me, even though I can't put my finger on why.

The same details could easily read as totally hot on a swimsuit model pin-up or just random passerby with the same physique as this girl in a swim top or sports bra. So I think it's less about what's being shown than how it's shown... but my insight ends there. Frustrating.

This seems to be a very generic "rom-com" with the authors fetish/ideal girl mixed in. This will likely become very formulaic and reliant on the same few jokes, i hope to be proven wrong but i fear i won't be, i will probably give this 5 chapters
