The publisher should have reacted to the galley-proofs by firing the editor, putting the series on hiatus, and publishing a one-shot in the issue.

Helck is literally Superman, while Cleo is just a dude...This is on par or even surpass the despair I felt reading helck's flashback
based on my own impression to the author's lore in his other titles, the despair arc will end soon (maybe the most will be 1-2 chapters). but the next one will be the heavy plot story (multiverse or will of the world)I do get the goal here. And I don't think it's being badly written or anything, but yeah, repeated, unrelenting despair chapters does make the consistent reading less fun. I still want to have faith in Nanao, and based on rough page count estimates, we've got 2 chapters left before the end of the volume (3 if they're short chapters), so I'm trying to hold on to the hope that this week was pretty much rock bottom, we'll see what that looks like a little more next week, but maybe even by the end of that chapter, there's gonna be a glimmer, a hand reached out, something, and by the end of the volume, we'll have a goal and in mind (even if in the short-term, it's something we know won't work out, like him joining up with Team Time-Reversal, or something) and a light to keep burning.
The double meaning didn't hit me until well after finishing the translation. I did a little bit of looking into it but apparently it's not like that in Japanese (outside of one instance I found of it, in Jujutsu Kaisen, of all things, along with a lot of Japanese readers of that series mystified by what it meant). A small chuckle to save some sanity for the English-speaking audience, at least.
"...Did you just shoot a hole through my chest?"
