Greater god probably wouldn't need the mc to do that, they made it clear the mc knows things something higher than them doesn't want them to know.

My guess is that the mc was a intended "wild card", with the ability to become the demon lord, or a hero, or even possibly a 4th god.
Basically the mc if he works at it can become anything, for good or bad.

would've been better if he got a boost to his stats but i guess at this point he's accepted being able to hunt and level up on his own. Maybe he'll have the 'kid friends' join in some hunting and him getting the 'last hit' in to exp steal or so (tho it would be unfair if it's not shared but other than it actually affecting your stats feels like you would get some strength over the time the same way walking/running maintains ur weight/stops you from gaining weight and hopefully keeps your leg muscles and such from getting worse)

Well the title is "hero or a demon king?" so i wouldn't put it past the MC to be petty enough to go down some demonic route (even hto he can talk to the goddess) for the sole purpose to gain power to punch that acorn head, if he's unable to convince those other gods to rebel against him lol
