@Serenata "Dried sushi" means the sushi served at the funeral hall in that scene. Japanese funeral homes serve some food. Sushi is almost always there, but those sushi are not so fresh. That's why Makio and Asa went to a sushi restaurant for better sushi on that day.

It's not mentioned further in the manga even once, despite there being numerous occasions where it could've been relevant. Perhaps it's a mistranslation? Or just a bit of unfounded gossip from people far in their extended family?
