this suffers from the same flaw as most bad shoujo... in every scene, all dialogue and action revolve around the fmc. she's either the focus of others' action, or she's somehow running verbal rings around everyone and drawing all their gazes. i hate how vapid this trope is. and it really does play to shamelessly excessive female desires and thinking.

people criticize male self insert media (usually for bad reasons) but at least it knows what it is - the female stuff is much worse and doesn't. i mean sure, it's aware of its genre, it knows the surface level of what allows for self insertion (multiple love interests etc). but it's not aware of, and it's totally shameless about, the absurd extent to which everything revolves around the heroine.

I'm sure people criticise shoujo for that, but difference is when guy are in center of attention it's due "zomg how awesum he is" in most cringey way, while girls are just like that, unless fmc is a basilisk, which doesn't happen commonly.
