Well Crap. He broke them knights just like that.

I love the new skills he gets. Just imagining the future uses makes me quite excited.

I get that this is supposed to be a humorous approach kind of manga, but I couldn't suspend belief enough to enjoy this chapter. "Knights won't revolt because of honor", nah. Knights revolt, and what's more, their honor is to the throne, not him. Mentally strain they would have killed him. As for the, "Well, they are NPCs in a game" aspect, whatever, it is written like they react normally.

Not dropping the manga by any stretch, but hated this chapter.

When the carrot and the stick stops working you pull out the baseball bat and crack discipline into the knights stubbornness.

The MC's argument seems sound. They're so ridiculously honorable that they'd refuse orders if it goes against their code. With such stubbornness, betrayal would be out of the picture because that's pretty much the MOST dishonorable thing for an individual to do. Especially since his majesty specifically ordered the knights to help the MC, killing him would be betraying the crown itself.

Besides, a knight's duty is to without hesitation lay down their lives for the sake of their master and no one even died so you can hardly call this kind of treatment extreme.

Knights are human beings too, as such are capable of thinking, reasoning and logical deduction.
If MC tortures them to their breaking point they would concoct plans to kill him and report to the king.
On the inverse, since he didn't let anyone die they won't mutiny as even they can see their skill levels rising and if they're the finest knights such level of harshness must not be new to them.
