At this point are they even a side couple? They get a decent amount of the chapters so far even if it's a bit less than the "main couple'. better just to think of it as a manga focused arround two different couples since the title could apply to the MC's friend too since even though he has dated it looks like he's been dumped preety quick in all his past relations all the way till now.
