And Mr. Lin has unintentionally created an eldritch cult. I can see them splintering off from the Council of Truth. If Mr. Lin gives that boy any books to read, I can see that boy becoming more of a menace.

everyone gains a benefit from Mr. Lin's books. Joseph was a bit hostile in the beginning and got a "fairy tale" that helped suppress the effects of Candela. Melissa was rude and bratty, and while the books she received caused her to focus so hard on studying that she neither ate nor slept for 3 days, once she recovers she'll still have all the benefits from the studies and whatever else Lin's books gave her.

everyone's mind gets impacted from reading Lin's books, it's just a question of whether or not they can withstand the impact and what benefit they receive from doing so.

ah i see....
Inky does however choose what is IN THE BOOK, as he transforms the books into something related to what MC imagines.
So you could argue that technicality... as well as.... another REALLY BIG spoiler thing im not going to elaborate on.

The none spoiler reason is that the connection between Inky and MC is abit special and stronger then you would think....
Lets just say there is a very good reason why MC of all people "got Isekai´d by Inky" , it was by no means random...
