After looking at a dictionary, there are a few different characters and combinations to mean Cloud
One of the most basic characters I found for Cloud was yún = 云 / yīn yún = 阴云

I understand that the commander flashback was a filler to refine the story adaptation from the novel, but if you start something finish it too, just make us see the commander save his wife in another chapter and then hint at the rest of the flashback appearin gin the future, cutting in it was annoying, cutting out is too becauser even if we more or less can imaigne what happened it was simply skipped.
I think that that flashback arc was super unpopular in China, because it was with us too, we were in the climax of the moon church arc and then suddendly we get a unrelated character lore, but again, just finish the job.
Instead they understood the message from users comments and simply axed it here and there.
