i mean, i wouldn't send a man that had been done wrong by corruption and betrayal straight into an environment that full of it, because he would become one of the "straight" one regardless his personal drive or motivation. instead, i would send him into a wholesome environment, and manipulate his fate, so his trauma and psychological scar won't heal, and thus the possibility of him ended up with another terrible end is high.
