I've seen enough FL with lost puppy syndrome and it's frustrating to see them ignore all the signs of the ML toxic behavior in favor of saying they're redeemable and that they can fix em. Maise seems like she's able to read situation and empathize with people, I just hope the author doesn't give her lost puppy syndrome.

In a relationship, you and your partner have been mutually exclusive with each other and is committed but not yet bound by law. Marriage is the last stretch and you're now bound by law
