Damn, so his wish to save Hise from bullying ended up brainwashing both her and the bullies into being friends. While she was "saved", that's kinda fucked up in and of itself, because that didn't really erase all the bullying that happened before. If she had scars from that she'd still have them even if she lost the memories. And the bullies never got what they deserved.

The star tear is not a true wish granter, it's a thing that falsely bends reality by presenting lies and illusions as "truth". Maybe not an outright monkey's paw, but something close.

If you think of "wish granter" from s.t.a.l.k.e.r, star tears are on point, it manipulates the perceived reality but not it.

At least its diferent from the WG from roadside picnic, that one get your must inner wish, and gives you that, not what you want or say, what is ingrained in your core, and the price? discovering what it is, no matter what you think or belive, you will need to live with the ugly truth.
