IMAGES NOT LOADING

Could be a cookies issue. I use brave browser, the pages stoped loading on everything but the site loaded fine, it worked fine in chrome however. So i turned off the built in add blocker system, it loaded fine. I then turned indviual part the "sheilds" from brave off and on. It didnt care about the ad/tracker blocker, https blocker, finger printer protector, but "third party cookies" blocker seemed to prevent the loading of chapters in some spots.

This however may have simply been solved by the fact toggling a blocker refreshes the page to, however considering the problem reappeared when third party cookies was blocked again, has me thinking otherwise. Hopefully this helps?

@Holo
After experimenting with Web Console and "Tap to reload" button I came to conclusion that the problem is with the trailing «?t=some_nonsense_number» in the image url. Opening the image link manually in a new tab results in «The image "https://super long url that I am not going reproduce here" cannot be displayed because it contains errors» message. Erasing question mark and everything after it loads the image normally.

This issue was fixed for me after I stopped spoofing the referer header (an option in uMatrix).

I just opened an older chapter and it was not loading, allowing an exception for mangadex to load "insecure content" fixed it.

@rigel2 that's what I'm getting as well. If I try to view the image directly instead of viewing it in the reader, it says the security certificate is expired.

Many people won't be able to use the "Allow expired certificate"-workaround, as they simply don't reach the image link. (You have to use the legacy viewer to do so.)

So, here is a link: https://s5.mangadex.org/data/0ef1aa2ca8627b99b511947198118408/W1.jpg

When you add the exception for this certificate, make sure to NOT make it a permanent one!!! (If you did, there is a small guide for firefox below, on how to remove it.) It will leave a security gap in your browser, that attackers might use! The risk isn't high though. Yet still, stay alert.

Therefore:
[ol][*]Leave this tab here open! (This one here, which you are currently reading and contains this thread.)
[*]Reload it from time to time to check, if the error has been fixed.
[*]If it has been fixed or if you have been officially warned, that attackers somehow are making use of that exception, you just made, remove that exception. At once!
[*]What ever happens, make sure to REMOVE THE EXCEPTION in the end. Just to be safe.
[*]And stay save friend.[/ol]Disclamer: You might have noticed, I'm a widdle bit on the paranoid side of the spectrum. Better safe, than sorry.

You should be able to remove it, this way:
[Firefox]: Go into "Options"/"Preferences" -> "Advanced"-Left-Menu-Entry -> "Certificates"-tab -> "View Certicicates"-button => "Server"-tab => look for the "s5.mangadex.org"-entry that expires on Tuesday, July 14, 2020 and delete it.
[other browsers]: Well, I'm not using any other browsers, but there should exist similar ways for them. (Maybe someone else down below adds a guide on how to find it in your browser.)

@Qelix Thanks for the info. Quick note, clearing the browsing history seems to be the way to get rid of the cert in Chrome.

Is this fixed yet? I saw that s5.mangadex.org got a valid certificate already but images are still not loading for the default reader. Only in legacy reader it loads.

Nevermind. Seems like i just needed to delete the mangadex cookies.

It seems to be fixed. Time to remove the certificate exception, if you didn't do it already. If there is still a certificate around (temporal or not), that look like this: "s5.mangadex.org" and that expires on Tuesday, July 14, 2020, let it be begone!

@Horo: Did old session cookies somehow cling to the old certificate, made the browser request the old certificate, which the server still delivered, and caused the error? Would have simply logging out and logging back in (to renew the session cookie) have solved the issue?

Normally I refresh the page and it works but for these two chapters, nope nothing.

But yeah the image not loading problems seems to still be going on for me at least. Makes it really hard to start a new manga series.
