What he would've read in her mind if he could is that she expected him to be honest about everything that has occurred and not lie and try sweep everything up under a rug - which is baseline decency, and you don't need to be a mindreader to know about this expectation.
And why he needs tell about everything that has occurred if she doesn´t even ask to him? When she lies to him too, when he asked if she felt bad and why and she LIED him, letting him believe she didn´t see nothing and she would have buyed the "little lie" of the "dead phone"?
Again, if Hikari wanted Yuu was 100% honest about everything, she had to ask directly instead expect he was able to read her mind magically
What was happening in that room was between Yuu and Aya, and both of them intentionally left Hikari out of it.
Ayami definitely left Hikari out of it, but Yuu not. The boy literally right now was just learned Hikari knows who is Ayami.
She had zero obligation to intervene when two of her "best" "friends" were having an intimate moment.
And he didn´t have zero obligation to tell her about his private life or her ex-girlfriend (before the confession to a girl who never showed interest for even the high school choice of Yuu) until the moment he discovered "Yami-senpai" was now the best friend of Hikari.
And not, a slap is not exactly "an intimate moment". Precious how you are normalizing gender-based violence.
Again, Yuu didn´t see Hikari during the kiss. He was not aware she was there, and only realizes she saw them where Hikari calls him a "liar".

The art is just so good. I agree with everyone else that our FMC is quite the victim but even moreso I think it speaks to her character last chapter that she was able to pierce right through Yami's self destructive bullshit. She still got hurt by the last comment Yami made and while others are quite polarizing I can sympathize with Yami. Obviously her choices were awful and hurtful but seeing the full context (even if it was a long poorly placed flashback) gives this story a lot of meat to chew on. Also, I wish I had friends like these girls... jeez...

This entire chapter's pretty meta, it's just all of us in the chapter talking through the characters.

We've reached critical triangle. Hopefully Katniss over here will be able to resolve things because Dawn and Dusk's drama is beginning to rope in other people.

And why he needs tell about everything that has occurred if she doesn´t even ask to him?
How would she know if there's even anything to ask if he doesn't tell her anything? Should she be asking him, "are you dating anyone at the moment"? How frequently does she need to be performing this temperature check?
letting him believe she didn´t see nothing and she would have buyed the "little lie" of the "dead phone"?
Her fault is letting him believe he can get away with (yet another) lie?
Again, if Hikari wanted Yuu was 100% honest about everything, she had to ask directly instead expect he was able to read her mind magically
So Yuu reserves the right to lie to his alleged best friend and sweetheart, unless she specifically asks him not to lie to her, and so it is Hikari who's in the wrong for being lied to and expecting anything different? For all the talk about misandry, that does seem awfully misogynistic.
And he didn´t have zero obligation to tell her about his private life or her ex-girlfriend until the moment he discovered "Yami-senpai" was now the best friend of Hikari.
Well I am glad then that there's no more expectation that Hikari was under the obligation to intervene.
And not, a slap is not exactly "an intimate moment".
As a part of the conversation they were having, it is, and so is the kiss you're omitting. Neither Yuu nor Ayami wanted Hikari or anyone else to be there, so it is by definition an intimate moment.

If you ghost someone and return to their life only to gaslight them, slap them and force yourself onto them in order to ruin their romance, yeah, I think you are objectively "at fault" for doing that. That's a pretty simple calculus.
In simple calculus you usually try to avoid dealing with false premises. And with the notion of "objectivity" of course.

Because he would be securely rejected by Hikari, she herself confirms us in chapter 17. She didn´t love him in middle school, PERIOD. And yes, Hikari starts to feel love with Yuu is AFTER him starting a relationship with Yami. So, Yami was right, without her, Hikari never would have looked Yuu.

Because he tried before and failed it. All the fucking school knew about his feelings for Hikari, but she didn´t.
Doesn't matter how obv it is nor if the entire school knows if the person itself doesn't see it. He wasn't and couldn't be direct as he was insecure, which is normal for teens.

She started to being close with him again is AFTER the Yami ghosting. The boy was heartbroken and passing his grief phase, this is the reason why he seemed so "cold". In the web novel Maruto confirms us Yuu was literally thinking in never love again during those first months. Anyone would be depressed after breaking with you first girlfriend who literally deflowered you.
Yeah and as I said, hikari didnt notice this change and that's one of her faults. But its not as affecting on their situation as the other 2s' faults, both lying and manipulating.

Hikari probably noticed that both yami and yuu care for each other, maybe even love still, that's why he said he didn't like liars when he confessed to him.

She never confessed in 2nd year, if you forgot it. She was coward again in the truth moment saying she wanted to return home after create all the romantic atmosphere in the gym, and that was the point where Yuu decided "is now or never, I prefer being rejected now than never say nothing"
And whose fault is it? Yami's.

Take note that the entire plan on their festival was for her to confess. She stopped or even gave way because of yami. Yuu only confessed because he finally had the perfect situation and opportunity HIKARI MADE and the push YAMI GAVE.

Honestly you're just making me see yuu's faults even more. He had no development, still insecure that's why he clings more to yami who's weaker than him while putting hikari on this very high pedestal. He gets the "hero" and "savior" feeling on the damsel in distress while also feeling good by "empowering" the other.

In the end he is nothing without a girl on his side. Which I guess is fine? There are women who like those but as a story its ehh I dont know its an irritating character.

Maybe it's browser dependent but copy and pasting images doesn't work for me. I always just upload my image to imgur, right click > open in new tab, and enter the url in the image option in the comment box.

I see no problem on both Hikari and Yuu side here since they already known each other long enough.

Main conflict is Aya alone which probably has this mental disorder and need help from both of Hikari and Yuu.

Yuu did nothing wrong, Yuu is too good for both Hikari and Yami
And yes, him being the only one who never attacked physically to nobody helps a lot
Yuu didn't push Yami off, Yuu is defending Yami after she broke his heart and ruined a future romance and he's not reaching out to Hikari at all and making excuses. He's not too good for anyone and at this point should hit the gym and study harder cus no one deserves a limp dick loser like him.

, I genuely think Yuu and Yami are a better match given how way more easily they could confide in one another.
But Yami doesn't confide in Yuu, she walks back the one time she opens up to him and deflects the rest of the time & even in her crash out hopes Yuu will read the naunce instead of telling him what's up. On the flip side, she seems to have told Hikari and her friends at least some of what's up at home & has even invited them over. And by this point, Yuu has confided in Hikari about his inferiority complex (twice now).

Which I think Yuu and Aya end up being too much alike (the kindred spirits comment on a Yuu chapter) & that's how they ended up in a relationship even Haru describes as wound licking. And to me it reads like the first go around they ended up in an insecurity spiral where neither realized how much they meant to the other, though maybe the crash out/crying was supposed to resolve that.

it's that he just assumes she's fine and that the focus should be on Ayami
I think it's more that he knows her friends are looking out for her b/c they came to see him. But also yes he should have expressed concern too.

What's this last page saying about it being bad to trust your lover?!
I wonder if it's a translation/missing nuance thing? I interpreted it as Yuu thinking of Hikari as invulnerable/Teflon. Admittedly projecting a bit here, "and therefore Hikari doesn't need him but Aya does".

ETA: Basically this:
He gets the "hero" and "savior" feeling on the damsel in distress

I definitely relate to them making a chart. I feel like I need a chart too at this point, especially given the release schedule.

I think what Haru and Yuki are saying is that Yuu is not acting like he's in love with Hikari because he's focusing solely on Yami right now. That might not be Yuu's intention but it's what other perceive when they view his actions and words.

Meanwhile, Yuu thinks Hikari will be just fine so he's focusing on the train wreck that is Yami.

Alright just a few things I wanna say (will probably have more to say when I wake tf back up and not tired as hell)

1. I honestly think it makes some sense him being worried about Yami but not Hikari- Yami is W A Y fucking more unstable and self destructive her spiraling from this feels very possible while Hikari seems pretty put together for the most part which is probably a big part of why he has so much more faith in Hikari being okay

2. Think it's interesting he's straight up admits he'll be omitting parts, but then the brief recap we get seems to basically tell everything we've seen I'm guessing the parts that he omitted (assuming he did omit parts) is stuff we haven't seen yet like events that happened between now and after the shit show

3. Also think it's worth noting that he strait up tells tells Seki "I already told you before there's someone else I like" seems he's probably still locked in on trying to be with Hikari

4. This part is pure speculation fueled by my tired brain but considering the fact it seems like he left some stuff out, he seems honestly not that broken up over what happened, he bluntly reminds Seki there's someone else he likes, he seems pretty confident in Hikari being okay ect- I think something else might've happened between him and Hikari since the rejection that's made him feel like things are completely ruined between them for the time being- if things were as rocky between them as they appear knowing Yuu I either don't think he'd be acting like this or he's bottling his shit up even harder now

I agree but for a different reason (and I said this already in leak discussion) - while he is sure Haru and Yuki would keep supporting Hikari, it was quite likely they would single out Yami and start blaming her.

It's probably just about all the intimate moments and the private stuff she shared with him. And also about how exactly that scene in the classroom went.
I think something else might've happened between him and Hikari since the rejection that's made him feel like things are completely ruined between them for the time being- if things were as rocky between them as they appear knowing Yuu I either don't think he'd be acting like this or he's bottling his shit up even harder now
Might be the case, but how would it explain why Hikari is still acting listless to the point of not talking at all (as said in the previous chapter)?
