its easily defend-able, humans arent perfect and Yami doesnt see herself as a person worth love. Maybe u never felt like that, but her actions are totally understandable. She's young and immature and had to grow up faster than she should without any support, thats why shes broken.
If she does get better mentally, she will look back at this and cringe for all the super edgy shit she said.

So I think this was kinda one of Aya's healthier life choices. In that she recognized that a relationship with Yuu is a sinkhole where he enables all her worst behavior (even here by offering to be a fallback if she won't do the hard thing of talking to Hikari) so she's like nope, not doing that again even though he gives her some momentary highs.

Similarly, it's good that she recognizes that Hikari pushes her to be better - (pushes her to the light) - and yeah is still resisting it but maybe Maruto is pushing her to choose growth at the end.

I mean, Yuu is a pretty likable character, all things considered, especially if you remember he's a teenager. Anyone looking for an alpha male protagonist can look to shoujo manga where most male MCs are like that—and even then, many of them make far worse mistakes than Yuu.
Believe me, when you see White Album 2 and meet the character in my avatar (Haruki Kitahara), you'll understand why Yuu is practically a saint compared to him.
