I do wonder what the parents look/looked like without their shitty fashion, both their children seem to have done well in the genetic lottery. It's nice that since the horrible parents weren't there, the little brother took the spot of the 'man of the house walking his daughter down the aisle' for his sister. Very sweet.
feels a bit like entrapment to be honest.Still don't think making a wedding a surprise is a good idea, what if she had said no after all that? Not that i think she would in this situation
Maybe they got it from their uncles and aunts who were treated similarly in the past.I do wonder what the parents look/looked like without their shitty fashion, both their children seem to have done well in the genetic lottery.
But they’re already legally married… This is just a ceremony the village put together since both of them were exiled right after marriage and never actually celebrated their wedding. They basically had the equivalent of a courthouse wedding instead of a church wedding with a bunch of guests.Still don't think making a wedding a surprise is a good idea, what if she had said no after all that? Not that i think she would in this situation
Nice wedding. It makes sense for this to end at chapter 35. I was just thinking after the last chapter there was no place to go now that they got rid of Robin. Agnes and Nazel have no flaws worth correcting. They're happily married already with no pending conflicts that could pop up. The interesting problems in Sutrena have already been resolved so even if there is stuff to resolve it's not worth seeing. There has been no meaningful or interesting foreshadowing for potential future events. In my mind pretty much anything they could put after this would just be filler or pointless padding to the story. They'd have to really work at putting something compelling together to make it worth continuing.
I just find this bittersweet, because it’s played very cute and sweet, but even in the chapter she’s a little upset she couldn’t be part of the planning! Are they going to have a third (first was just signing the papers, second was this one) wedding so she can actually participate??
Just sucks that she couldn't be involved in her own wedding or have any agency; especially considering they got married against their will in the beginning. It could’ve been a nice way to take back intent and power by choosing to be married.
Exactly! It’s fine, I just feel like it wasn’t the best thing they could have done for her. They already confirmed their mutual feelings much earlier in the story. This was just a surprise party because they had none. They had been far too busy saving the people of the remote region from famine and monsters, plus dealing with Agnes's criminal parents and Robin's machinations, to even think about such things. Well, I also think she should have been a part of the planning and preparation process. It was pretty weird to do it like this, at this point, when they don't have big worries anymore. However, since they are already a perfectly willingly married couple, it was technically possible to do it like this as well. Personally I'd have hesitated to do it like this since this is only the second party in Agnes's life that wouldn't give her nightmares, after the harvest festival. All earlier parties have been disasters due to being ridiculed because of the century old dress and makeup, with the party at the royal castle being little better, when she was held hostage and all that. Maybe a surprise party isn't the best sort of surprise for her specifically.
