I'm so relieved that there's a more wholesome interpretation of the cat thing. The vibe I got was more mizu shobai or fuzoku than black company, where you're choosing a numbered portrait of the cat you want like they're a sex worker.

😅 I wasn't thinking that. I was more like the workers are just quirky and gabe them randomly generated numbers

I imagined the alarm clocks after reading that. It's essentially the same thing
