Well D would end the story probably, so not that one... I'm going to choose the reasonable one this time: C. He won't stay and watch the heartfelt scene between brother and sister, he could overhear something about the two being related and have his misunderstanding cleared up!

The brother is an asshole for leaving his sister to die like that. I can't sympathize with him in any way. And they tried to pass it off as a comedic getaway, but I don't find it funny AT ALL that he ran away while knowing that his sister would be used as his replacement (and he knows that she doesn't even know how to fight, so she'd just be fodder for the enemy forces).
What a total scumbag.
