There are 2 authors for this manga, Daisuke and Nekoko.
Daisuke hasn't written much, just a few of them.
But Nekoko has written more than 10, one of them is Reincarnated as a Dragon Egg, which I pretty much enjoy and it's in the same genre as this same. The rest are rated decently so I think this manga is in somewhat good hands.
There are quite a bit of Japanese manga where the world is against the MC, they are usually in the revenge genre and it really depends on the author.
Chinese style would more like if the bad guys beat up the MC for no good reason, even if they are in a profession where professionalism is expected like guards. I've seen quite a lot of Chinese style manhua tell their story like that.
I'm not feeling that comparison. This is literally a story where the MC's mere existence warrants people to discriminate against him, this is the standards for wuxia writing, and Chinese bullocks as a whole. This is not the standard "MC on an adventure, fighting against fate" or what have you. This is: "I am going to make everyone hate my MC, always, in every panel."
This is as Chinese as it gets.
And since this is written by the guy who wrote "Reincarnated as a dragon egg", I know it's going to blow ass. Having read the WN, I couldn't get past chap 50 or so. It was so obvious that the author just wants to torture his MC, by constantly forcing him to choose literally the worst outcome for him (i.e: the choices he doesn't want to take). Lit, in that story, god is the author, fucking with his characters. I don't care for it.
The manga is pretty fun, though. The art does a lot of heavy lifting.
