This might be the most legitimate reason I've seen in a manga for suggesting someone crossdress. Usually it's just a gag they tack on to disguising someone, and one of their companions makes them crossdress just because they find it funny. This time though, it's an all-female tribe, so it actually makes sense that he would have to use a female disguise.

She appeared once back around the middle of the series from before Touya went to the empire. She eagerly jumped him after they got rescued from a rampaging lower phrase. A lot has happened since then but I knew she was likely going to become part of his harem when she got such a notable appearance for no reason.
