Was kinda excited cause it's the author who made Kyou no Kira-kun, but the premise seems like a mess 🤔

I'm such a nerd that quadratic isn't reduced far enough you need to get rid of the square root, solve for the +- and then divide that by 3

The art is pretty! Don’t have much to say abt the story as it’s just the beginning. Can’t wait for more! ☺️

>>"The translation seems a bit off and the cleared and typesetting looks super rushed."
You complain about their translation when your translator seems to have trouble understanding basic Japanese? Seems like you should focus on improving yourself instead of pushing other groups off series they have just as much of a right to.

P7 - https://i.imgur.com/5M9FNUq.png Literally translated this line is: "At the time I heard, I didn't think you'd last even a year." It reads very awkwardly, but Blueberry got the basic meaning right here. Adding "truth be told" does help make it more smooth, but you're just adding extra things for the sake of smoothness while not understanding the meaning of the sentence.

P7 - https://i.imgur.com/4vIzZpT.png "Also" is a poor translation for しかし. He isn't appending his statement, he is moving to another topic here. Small issue though, I'll grant you that, but speaks to your translator's base level of understanding. In the interest of focusing on the more dire issues though, this is the last nitpicky thing I'll point out. From here I'll just focus on the blatant issues.

p8 - https://i.imgur.com/igS0rJI.png Just curious, is your translator aware that 20も過ぎて means that Reo is now over 20 years old? You guys talk about smooth translations but this one reads like you didn't know what it said so you translated it as literally as possible to be safe.

p9 - https://i.imgur.com/lM9IILC.png いい感じ Literally means "good feeling". Ergo, it looks nice. Blueberry got this one right, too. This is like, so basic I'm honestly terrified that your translator is translating things at all at their level.

p10 - https://i.imgur.com/da5rG6g.png Not sure why the tense is past? She is saying she thinks she is (capably - from the potential form on the やる there) currently doing all the stuff that is trendy.

p13 - https://i.imgur.com/xonZRgo.png Did you remove the 手下 for the sake of smoothness? You might've been able to circumvent it just by writing "I heard he used to work for the Yakuza" if you didn't want to use a word like that at all.

p13 - https://i.imgur.com/STRhBod.png Augh, I promised not to be too nitpicky, but this one is pretty bad too. しかも isn't "Well,", it's "On top of that" or any sort of like "to add to that" kind of phrase. And "for his violence" makes it sound like it's some kind of condition that he was constantly exhibiting or something, like a personality tick, rather than a more localized crime of violence which is what 暴力沙汰 means. Blueberry called Juvie "juvenile training school" which is pretty hilarious, but they aren't the ones trying to act like they are better and publically shaming their competition. We're barely through the chapter though, so I better keep moving.

p14 - https://i.imgur.com/lXjQRAS.png - I'm just gonna post Bluberry's TL because while it's awkward, it's literal and shows they understand. https://i.imgur.com/5Ixqbnr.png

p18 - https://i.imgur.com/VncplSC.png とはね means "To think the -the- Reo would be next to you". Ergo, "I'm surprised Leo is your seatmate". Blueberry got this right... kinda? I mean they didn't really flesh out the surprise, so there's that.

p20 - https://i.imgur.com/hSXMTll.png - Logical error. It's not "because of your curfew", it's two separate things. "You're still not allowed to get a part-time job, and you still have a curfew."

p21 - https://i.imgur.com/pmpmikP.png - Blueberry got this right, she is saying "So you're finally interested (in this stuff)"

p21 - https://i.imgur.com/jMrvpX9.png - Both of you guys got this wrong. She is talking about herself in the third person: "Even Rio (I) am working as an amateur model now because I fell in love with Ayase Kaede."

p22 - https://i.imgur.com/qpKGCNc.png Every three days sounds like she has thousands of boyfriends, that got a good chuckle from me. It's "after three days". You forgot to add this part too: "saying things don't feel right with him" (なんか違うって言って)

And we're literally only halfway through the chapter and I skipped almost all of the things where tone/implication/smaller meanings (but still important meanings) were missed due to poor word choice (such as on p7)

The verdict is that while Blueberry doesn't write their translation as smoothly (although you guys have plenty of awkward literal translation-ie bits in yours), at least their translator basically knows what they're reading. That you think you can prop yourselves up as the higher quality version is frankly embarrassing.

Thank you Lovesick Alley! Don't listen to anyone, you did a great job, very accurate, and some comments seem to me too hurtful to believe they were written by a simple "reader". You know what i mean.

Slow down people. If the people here thinks that I am one of the staff, na aaah my friends. I am not a staff. Period. I just happened to know who got here first and who's work is much "readable". Nothing much to read here.

If you want something to read, you have that long essay down below from a merely concerned "reader" it would hurt his/her butt if you won't read it. I mean lets appreciate the effort 👏
