Yeah on one hand I don't want to dislike the story but Zhou Rong sure acts like she doesn't know they're in ancient china and that Bai Man needs to keep up the appeareance of being a loving wife due to the way the court works.

Zhou Rong seems like someone who doesn't think a lot about keeping up appearances, especially after the regression(s) where she may no longer care if they die. It's not clear how she became a high level general in ancient China, but I think we can say it was not by political maneuvering. It likely had more to due with her military ability. Bai Man is very good at hiding her true intentions, so Zhou Rong really doesn't know what's going on. That is a situation where it's easy for her insecurities to lead.

Information from prior regressions that readers don't have is informing her conclusions as well, while readers have access to Bai Man point of view. Naturally our conclusions will be different.

If Bai Man trusted Zhou Rong and shared her goals then we'd probably see a comparatively more reasonable Zhou Rong. Zhou Rong wouldn't get to where she is if she had no ability to be respectful in formal settings, but she is acting out in an emotional way here.

I am becoming less invested in this story as time goes on, but that's how I read her character.
