Was this manga doing badly during the action scenario? I remember it does have slow moments like this but, maybe it's because I marathoned through them, I don't remember the older slow parts feeling this long. Either way, I really hope the protagonist gets stronger. Not superhuman like the other guy, just more capable so that the oncoming evolved monsters don't just wreck everyone.

Bro this is japan. All girls are M unless you follow certain mangaka.
I don't mean the doujin variety though... I mean that clearly some mangaka are different, like the creator of Mato Seihei No Dorei, but otherwise yeah
they're all M. All the heroines in Shinjuu No Nectar, Komi-San, Muto and Sato, Bijin Onna Joushi, Go-Toubun and the like.

I remember gaijin goomba doing a topic about the Yamato Nadeshiko desire that's prevalent in japanese media about black haired, slender women, who were quite and did their duty as a wife silently and subserviantely. It still exists in the majority of manga, and these heroines are usually popular. Though to be fair I also like Onodera the most in Nisekoi. My favorite characters are usually the ones that subvert it though.
