Hey all, I have changed some of the names to fit the name in the original novels.
Garth -> Garuth
Shirohin -> Shilohin

I would need some help from those that have read the novel.
What is the name of Sorensen's boss? I could roughly translate it to Bohelio/ Pogelio. But it doesnt sound right.
What is the name of the weapon factory that they are building? (mentioned in CH21 pg 19) I am calling it the Adzar base for now.

It's crazy that this author has been writing good and fun sci-fi for 50 years. I also recommend The Two Faces of Tomorrow, The Blue Hole, and The Blue World if you're looking for more from him. The latter two are much less serious, but still enjoyable.

In order to do such a precise and localized damage, that was probably an artillery strike.
Orbital bombardment is MUCH more energetic and much, MUCH more widespread in impact.
The Chelyabinsk meteorite in 2013 was brighter than the sun, visible from more than 100km, caused damages in 6 different cities and it wasn't even big enough to reach the ground, but exploded at 30km of altitude (commercial airplanes flight at around 10km, outer space starts at 100km). The Tunguska meteorite was larger than 50m, delivered around 30 Megaton of energy, flattened an area 3 times bigger than New York, and STILL wasn't big enough to reach ground, but exploded at 10km of altitude; the fragments reached ground, leaving craters 10 to 50 meters in diameter...

Hm, true...I guess it could have been a bomb or ortillery, but the images of the asteroid just beforehand is kinda suspect...

I glanced over my copies of the books. The manga is a mashup of events from at least three of the novels in the Giants series so things are different in events, order of events, and even who was present at them.
First off, Sorensen seems to be the character Sverenssen who doesn't appear until the third book (along with the rest of the secret conspiracy). The scene where he first appears never happened, or at least not how its shown in the book (the corpse reveal to Hunt was on Earth not the moon and was recorded footage/pictures show to him during a meeting at a different location). He doesn't seem to answer or work with anyone with a name similar to Bohelio/Pogelio.

I flipped through the book to answer your question but turns out it ends with the arrival at the Ganymede crash site. It looks like this manga is adapting the whole series and not just Inherit the Stars. It's also been a while since I read the books so I'm not sure where we are now in the series. I think I have the rest of the books somewhere so I'll try to dig them out.

EDIT: Okay, skimming is done. I forgot how much the manga changed. The leader of the Jevlenese is Imares Broghuilio, I think that's who you're referring to. But he's not a king and the conspiracy is not made of Neanderthals. The Lambians are just a different faction from the Cerians, so the war was more like US vs Soviets instead of between two different hominid species. Also in the books there's no asteroid base churning out warships so you're out of luck on the name front.

Thanks for the reply!
I have looked through Google Books Common Terms Link Here
Does the name "Broghuilio" rings a bell? It did sound like Bohelio/Pogelio.
Oh my and if Sorensen = Sverenssen I have many corrections to make 💀

Also from my research, it seems like their base is called Uttan.

Yeah, I just realized it was Uttan as well and came back here to say that. It wasn't in the solar system though which is why it slipped past me.

It's possible the manga made him a king though, it did change him into a Neanderthal. But in the books he's a Premier like in the Soviet Union.

Chapter 21 pg31, The current translation is
Long ago, the mother planet was lost when Lambia in the north gave the final victory to Cerios in the south
and also on earth
it will be the day when the destroyed Northen Neanderthal will take revenge on the Southern Cro-Magnon.

This would be my more accurate translation:
Since the loss of our homeworld in the distant past, the Lambians will finally achieve final victory over the Cerians.
And on Earth, too—
That will also become the day when the extinct Neanderthals successfully take revenge on the Cro-Magnons…!!

So it is not stated that they are Neanderthals. Broghuilio is just hating on Cro-Magnons.
