Actually, I was planning on making a page at the end of chapter 2 on chapter titles but I forgot so here goes.

In the french version (the one I am scanlating from) all the titles have colours in them, starting with chapter 1: "l'homme noir" ("The Black Man") chapter 2: "l'homme gris" ("The Grey Man") and so on.
Most of these, however, are based on play on words, so for example the "black man" refers to how the detective seems like he is "black" on the inside, and then in chapter 2

the "grey" man is when you realise that actually he is neither "black" nor "white" but a mix of both, using dark methods for a somewhat good cause. (hence the "grey").

But, I felt like translating it directly to "The Black Man" made it refer more to a skin colour than a character trait. And so I made it "The Man who was Black" to infer "The Man who was Black" (inside)

So there you have it, the story behind the weird chapter titles.

I'm really hoping I can find the japanese raws to base myself on those instead of the French ones.

Only 2 chapters in and I can already tell this is going to be a great series. Like most stories that are actually mature, this manga definitely uses violence but without too much gore and edge, which is the best way of portraying violence in my opinion. It's rare to see gritty manga like this, with actually mature protags and stories, getting scanlated. I'm getting some Golgo 13 vibes from this manga - anti-heroes are the best kind of heroes - and the fact that Kurokochi sort of looks like him only reinforces that. Thank you @Allexio for bringing this awesome work to us. 10/10

If you do end up buying the japanese raws, I wouldn't mind you sending me some scans. would be much appreciated!

Or if you get the french version, you could make my life a LOT easier if you could take good quality scans of the french version, because all I have to work with are the scans that you can get if you follow the link to the raws on this page.

The french version yes. I bought vol 1 and 2, i will probably get them in 3 days.
I was already interested in this manga because of a recommandation from a friend (i like stories like this or Ouroboros) , after reading these chapters, i think it's time for me to finally buy them .

I don't want to split typesetting because it would mean more work for me to organise the translations and share the stuff.
I'd much rather have a cleaner who can just send me the cleaned images when done (in a normal, image file format) and then I can translate and typeset directly on top of that.

I've heard from a friend who read the series in French that the art style changes a bit throughout the series
might fix this ^^

Glad I found this trawling the updates page, for some reason I didnt find the series before doing the same.Funny goofy reactions to serious going ons, asshole corrupt cops, crazy ass politicians and its a completed series too!
